Brenna Gilsdorf

Legal Assistant

Brenna grew up in Las Cruces, graduating from Onate High School in 2016. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Government from New Mexico State University (2020). She decided to venture to the Midwest where she earned her Juris Doctor Degree from Northern Illinois University in Dekalb, Illinois in 2024.

While in law school, Brenna wrote an amicus brief on behalf of a case providing a constitutional analysis of parental and child rights with regards to transgender surgery, under the instruction and mentorship of Lorianne Updike-Toler, a professor at NIU and Yale law school and the founder of ConSource.

Brenna came back to Las Cruces and worked as a summer intern at Ramon Hernandez Law. While she was in Illinois, she worked at the Law Office of RSB Ltd. in Warrenville Illinois, where she worked in the U-Visa Department.

-Brenna has a passion for learning about history and is obsessed with the Founding and World War 2


-Brenna names her dogs after women who have had a positive impact in history and currently has a boxer huskie mix named Rosalind Franklin, aka Rosie, and a German Shepard named Susan B. Anthony, aka Susie. Brenna used to have a mastiff pit bull mix named Sandra Day O’ Connor aka Sandy, who unfortunately passed due to hip dysplasia.

Norma J. Vega

Paralegal

Norma J. Vega is one of our paralegals who has been in the legal field for over 40 years. She is an NMSU Graduate and completed several refresher courses in the legal field. She was a dispatcher for the Las Cruces Detective Division for approximately 2 years; worked at the Magistrate Court as a court clerk and then went on to work for various attorneys in Las Cruces area.

Besides being a prior drummer in a band; she enjoys being the Chaplin for the Fraternal Order of Eagles, which is a non-profit organization raising money for charities and helping families around the Las Cruces area.

Denise Lopez

Office Manager

Denise was born and raised in Las Cruces, NM and graduated from Las Cruces High School in 2005. As the office manager and legal secretary at Ramon Hernandez Law, with over thirteen years of experience, Denise streamlines administrative processes and supports our legal team.

Fluent in English and Spanish, Denise brings valuable communication skills that bridge language barriers and enhance client relations in diverse environments. With a keen eye for detail and exceptional organizational skills, Denise excels at managing day-to-day office operations, coordinating schedules, and ensuring smooth workflow in our fast-paced setting.

Denise is the proud mother of three beautiful daughters. On her free time, she loves being the loudest and proudest Lady Outlaw Softball and Organ Mountain High School Silverette Pom mom and enjoys a fulfilling life with her family. Balancing family life with a passion for supporting her kids’ extracurricular activities, Denise is deeply rooted in family values. Whether cheering from the sidelines or managing her busy professional life, she brings dedication and care to everything she does.

Martha P. Chavez

Legal Assistant

Martha P. Chavez is one of our Paralegals. With a dual B.A. in Spanish and Political Science from New Mexico State University. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Sociology, where her research focuses on the challenges faced by the 1.5 generation of undocumented immigrants—their legal status, national identity, and the social obstacles they navigate.

In addition to her role as a paralegal, Martha serves as a Graduate Assistant at the Center for Latin American and Border Studies (CLABS) and a Teaching Assistant in the Sociology Department.

Martha plans to pursue law school this upcoming fall, with a focus on immigration law. When not working or studying, she enjoys spending time with her dog, Elisa (Eli for short), watching telenovelas and spending time with her family.

Patricia (Patti) Marble

Paralegal

Patti was born and raised in CA. In 1986 she and her family moved to Socorro, NM. In 1995 the family moved to Las Cruces. While looking for work, she decided she wanted to become a paralegal, so she enrolled at DABCC, now known as DACC, where she received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Sciences Meritorious in 1998. While at DACC Patti became a lifetime member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, as well as a crimson scholar.

Patti got her first paralegal job a couple of months before she graduated working for attorney Dan Dolan, where she worked for 11 years. While working for Dan she was invited by the head of the Paralegal Program to be a panelist to speak to new students in the paralegal program where she discussed her experiences of being a paralegal and answered questions. Patti worked for one other attorney before coming to work at Ramon Hernandez Law.

A few of her favorite things to do are taking pictures of the landscape and clouds, hanging out with family and crocheting.

Marcos Perales

Firm Coordinator

Marcos Perales is the Firm Coordinatorr, responsible for quantifying client requests and handling intakes. His expertise includes law firm management and business development, supporting the firm’s client growth. Outside of work, Marcos enjoys family time, his dogs Oreo, Noodle, and Amorsuki, and traveling. He is creative, driven, and collaborative.
